The Star Trek armchair was designed in 1994 by Roberto Lazzeroni for the «Different signs» collection.
To mark the company’s thirtieth anniversary, Ceccotti Collezioni pays a tribute to the product and its designer with the creation of a limited edition of 30 numbered pieces, with a new special finish: the armchair is
produced for the first time in solid ash with a special finish in blue shellac.
Coloured shellac was used by craftsmen in the 1800s to simulate the effect of opulent furniture inlaid with colourful natural stones such as malachite or lapis lazuli sourced in East Europe.
This special process confers an exceptional sheen to wood. The intense shade of indigo penetrates the wood fibre and highlights its grain and magnificent stratification.
The armchair is upholstered in fabric: Atlantico in the variant Oceano by Dedar.
